About the Role
As General Manager, you will play a key role in developing the Club's business in line with our company mission. You will be fully responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of the Club, ensuring achievement of budgeted revenue and profit targets while delivering our brand values and maintaining the highest levels of member engagement and satisfaction.
In this position, you will lead, support, and develop your teams to consistently deliver extraordinary and personalized service. As an Aspria brand ambassador, you will strengthen and promote the Club's highly regarded reputation within the local community.
Main responsibilities
Commercial Development
- Maximize club profitability by optimizing commercial activities across all departments, ensuring that targets are met and effective cost control across all direct functional departments is in place
- Strong involvement in & development of membership sales through active coaching of Sales Manager & sales team
- Initiate & support local marketing and sales initiatives with the Country Marketing team to generate new membership enquiries
- Stay informed of local competition & market trends to maintain competitive advantage
- Responsible for club budget and P&L
Member Engagement & Service Delivery
- Manage club operations, ensuring effective delivery and member service on a daily basis
- Maximize member retention and drive ongoing referrals by fostering a culture of service
- Lead by example by consistently demonstrating service excellence and serving as a role model for all club employees
- Take an active role in driving member and guest satisfaction through regular, personal engagement and meaningful interactions.
Staff Development
- Recruit, coach and develop Heads of Department to deliver exceptional service and maximize member satisfaction
- Support Heads of Department in becoming strong, effective managers and inspiring role models for their teams
- Lead by example with a hands-on approach, ensuring staff remain fully engaged with Members at all times
- Create a trust-based team culture where team members feel empowered to take initiative and achieve their goals
- Set ambitious and motivating objectives for each team member, using regular one-to-ones and constructive performance reviews to optimize individual and team performance
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and guidelines for yourself and your teams
Operational & Asset Management
- Ensure the Club operates in full compliance with company policies as well as local and national regulatory requirements
- Implement & maintain health, safety & hygiene procedures, ensuring best practice in line with SOPs & relevant legislation
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance across the Club and its grounds in accordance with brand expectations
- Work with territory Facility Management team to ensure effective on-going preventative maintenance of the club
- Provide guidance and recommendations on capital investments when required
- Ensure the club is supported by fully trained & competent operational management throughout all opening hours
- Guarantee all staff receive thorough briefings and training on procedures for accidents, incidents, and fire evacuations.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in a senior management role, ideally within hospitality, facility management, fitness, or retail
- Bachelor's or master's degree in relevant managerial area
- Demonstrated experience in business development with a proven record of commercial success and delivering strong ROI
- Ability to prioritize workload and to adapt to meet changing deadlines and priorities
- Experience in managing and developing managers
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take an entrepreneurial approach
- Strong written and spoken English; fluency in French required. Dutch is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft tools, with experience compiling and presenting data analysis at board level

Work environment
The General Manager position is a full-time, Brussels-based role that reports to the Operations Director. It is an on-site position and regularly involves evening and weekend work.
